PHILLIP W. JOHNSON IS THE OWNER, CREATIVE DIRECTOR, AND BOARD CHAIR OF CMT-TV.org
PHILLIP WARREN JOHNSON, was educated at Rockhurst College, in Kansas City Missouri. In addition to writing, he is a filmmaker and social entrepreneur. He and his wife Deidra M. Kemp are forming the Johnson-Kemp Foundation which will focus on individual, family and community empowerment. Mr. Johnson has been involved in a variety of community organizations including Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc, and the YMCA of Greater St. Louis.
His first feature length film Ayiti!, a film on the best and brightest in Haiti is currently in production. His short film Shabbat Zachor was included in the Whitaker Foundation St. Louis Filmmaker Showcase in 2012 and his #Ferguson Film Fire This Time, aired at the Tivoli Theater in 2015. He has also been a contributing writer to the St. Louis Post Dispatch, and The St. Louis American newspapers. Mr. Johnson and his wife were both born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri.
CMT-TV.org is a non-profit film incubator, which will feature film products produced by emerging student and local filmmakers in partnership with other local film schools, and the St. Louis film community. CMT-TV.org will also produce web based content that may be spin offs from the feature films, or unique to the St. Louis region. (Selected films will also be available for viewing at local theaters and film festivals).
